“Chase the Sun” Supported by Jackson Rowe

3 June 2024

On 22 June 2024, Jackson Rowe’s Julian Sutton will take on the challenge of “Chase the Sun”, a gruelling 206-mile bike ride spanning from Minster on Sea in Kent to the Grand Pier in Weston-super-Mare. Starting at 4.40am and aiming to complete by 9.32pm Julian will embrace the physical demands of the course as well his own personal challenges of managing type 1 diabetes at the age of 60. Driven by the noble cause, Julian aims to raise funds and awareness for PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide.

PAPYRUS is dedicated to preventing suicide and promoting positive mental health among young people in the UK, aiming to shatter the stigma surrounding suicide by equipping individuals and communities with the tools to recognise and respond to emotional distress. In an industry with one of the highest rates of suicide among workers, Jackson Rowe’s Mental Health First Aider, Director Sandy Barnes will be encouraging Jackson Rowe employees to support this cause.

To learn more about PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide and the vital services they provide, visit their website at papyrus-uk.org. And if you’re able and willing to support this worthy cause, please consider visiting Julian’s JustGiving page and making a contribution.

Together we can pedal towards a future where every young person sees the dawn of a new day, filled with hope, resilience, and the promise of a brighter tomorrow.

We wish Julian the very best of luck.
