Jackson Rowe Completes Employment & Skills Plan on behalf of Crest Nicholson

15 July 2022

Jackson Rowe recently completed the Employment and Skills Plan for Bishops Waltham Phase 2 on behalf of Crest Nicholson.

As part of this project, Jackson Rowe planned and delivered two separate virtual work experience weeks over Zoom, one for Peter Symonds College and one for Regents Park Community College.  Peter Symonds said of their event; “I’ve looked at the student’s project work and seen the e-mails going back and forth and it’s very clear that our students were incredibly engaged in this work experience and the student’s comments at the end reflect this. It’s so wonderful to learn that a work experience programme has had such a positive outcome for our students.”

Some of the student feedback included: “Thank you!  This has been a real experience and it’s been fun and enjoyable! You’ve been a fantastic host! (speaking about our Employment & Skills Co-ordinator, Harry Rippon) Thank you!”  “It’s been a good 3 days thank you, learned a lot.  It was different to what I expected (in a good way).”  “Thank you. I have really enjoyed these three days.  I wasn’t looking forward to it before I had the first day but I had fun and wish it was longer than 3 days!”

Other training took place on-site in the form of apprenticeships and alternative qualification routes, including Quantity Surveying, Bricklaying and Drylining.  This project spent 418 weeks training the people working on it, beating their target of 261.

Jackson Rowe also represented Crest Nicholson at a variety of events including Career Fairs at Barton Peveril College and Eastleigh College, directing and creating their own Careers in Construction Video and taking part in career talks delivered by Hampshire County Council and Sparsholt College.

This project provided  jobs to 15 out of work individuals (beating their target of 12) and helped 18 site operatives renew or achieve construction certificates and qualifications.
