James is a Director and Expert at Jackson Rowe based in the United Kingdom. He is regularly involved in dispute resolution processes both domestically and internationally for both contractors and client organisations and provides expert witness evidence on high value / high profile disputes.

James’ experience as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor encompasses both building and civil engineering. He started his career as a quantity surveyor for a main contractor with responsibility for all commercial management duties on small and multi-million-pound projects.

James’ career experience relates to a variety of sectors including roads, rail, water, power, oil and gas, residential, mixed-use developments, commercial, education and healthcare.

James has an in depth understanding of contractors’ claims, from working as a quantity surveyor for a main contractor. This, combined with his legal and dispute resolution training, enables James to successfully value claims and defences based on personal experience supplemented by technical skills.

In more recent years James has undertaken expert quantum work in connection with building, engineering and oil and gas disputes both nationally and internationally, is accredited as a practising Member of the Academy of Experts and is an RICS Accredited Expert Witness. James has been instructed as Expert Witness and in doing so provided has provided reports, opinion and / or advice on over 20 occasions, has participated in joint expert meetings and the production of joint statements and has been cross examined in the High Court of Justice (Chancery Division) relating to quantity surveying matters. James has also represented parties in adjudication and has provided quantum support in high value arbitration and litigation proceedings. James also acts as adjudicator in relation to consumer disputes.
