Jackson Rowe’s Employment & Skills Plan Sets New Standards in Job Creation and Skills Training on behalf of Cora Homes

In a wonderful display of community collaboration and commitment Jackson Rowe, together with Cora Homes and Gedling Borough Council, has delivered new benchmarks in job creation and skills training. The Employment & Skills Plan (ESP) linked to residential development, Eagles Edge, in Nottingham has exceeded expectations on multiple fronts, showcasing the positive impact that a dedicated team and local engagement can achieve.

One of the standout achievements of the Redhill development is the creation of 14 new jobs for local residents. These jobs include plumbers, painters, decorators, carpenters, plasterers and cleaners. A most heartening aspect of this Key Performance Indicator (KPI) delivery is that it surpasses the ESP’s initial target of 7 new jobs by an astonishing 100%. Furthermore, the development has provided opportunities for local residents to become integral members of Cora’s site team, fostering a sense of community and pride.

As part of the delivery team’s commitment to deliver the ESP, Cora have been represented by Jackson Rowe at the Careers & Pathways Fair held at Carlton Forum Leisure Centre. This event attracted 700 students from local academies, including Carlton Academy, Redhill Academy and Colonel Frank Seely. In addition to the fair, Jackson Rowe conducted an enlightening Careers in Construction workshop during lunchtime for 15 students from Christ the King. This workshop offered valuable insights into various jobs within the construction industry and pathways to achieving career goals.

Cora’s commitment to skills development was evident in their delivery of 288 training weeks for Redhill development staff and operatives, far surpassing the targeted 167 detailed in the ESP. This training encompassed apprentices and trainees working with Cora, both as part of the construction team and within the commercial or technical teams.

As part of the ESP Cora pledged to provide ongoing training to their operatives and showcased this dedication by highlighting 15 newly achieved or recently renewed training certificates or qualifications. Qualifications ranged from formal construction certifications including CSCS cards, forklift training, First Aid & IOSHH to drone pilot licenses.

It was a pleasure to work with Cora’s Redhill development team who demonstrated their commitment to building a stronger, more skilled and engaged community. With the project already exceeding its goals for job creation, training, and community engagement it serves as an inspiring example of what can be achieved when local collaboration and commitment take centre stage. We look forward to further collaboration and to sharing in Cora’s continued successes.
