It’s been a full year since Jackson Rowe first adopted our hive through SW Honey Farms, and the statistics speak volumes about the remarkable impact of beekeeping in just one year.
The queen in our hive has produced between 100,000-200,000 honeybees. The maximum number of honeybees in the hive at one time this year was around 80,000 bees and the number of flowers that were pollinated based on the amount of honey produced are around 130 million flowers!
Our hive played a crucial role in establishing a new colony of bees and our queen has even been inducted into this year’s queen rearing programme, a programme dedicated to harnessing the finest queen genetics to cultivate the next generation of queens for the next season. So not only has our queen already contributed to the impressive bee population, she will also be instrumental in producing many more queens who will produce the same amount.
